ECM veteran Holland has reorganized his band, with only vibes/marimba man Steve Nelson retained from the Dream of the Elders line-up. His priorities however remain unchanged. Holland cites the influence of Duke Ellington in his current music, seeking to engage the new listener with the attractive melodic contours of this elegant modern jazz and to hold the attention of the long-term enthusiast with the level of interplay, the rhythmic intensity and the strength of the soloing.
