About ECM
April 13 , 2006

They came, they saw, they conquered

ECM’s double launch concert for the new albums of Anouar Brahem ("Le Voyage de Sahar ") and Rolf Lislevand (" Nuove musiche ") in Munich was a raging success. Brahem’s trio played the first half of the show, transfixing the audience with its „evocative music, soaked in the atmosphere of places and time”. (Jazzwise).
In the second half Lislevand’s septet including the jazz double bass of Bjorn Kjellemyr, the harp and pristine vocals of Arianna Savall as well as the leader’s dazzling arch lute, theorboe, and Baroque guitar re-invented early music before our eyes, opening up the form to find points of correspondence with Irish music, Flamenco, and more.
Both bands played encores, and a good time was had by all.
