ECM recommends ...
GEO Edition Dokumentarfilme has just issued a boxed set of three of the films of Swiss director Christian Frei. This special edition includes the critically-acclaimed and prize-winning “War Photographer”, “The Giant Buddhas” and “Ricardo, Miriam y Fidel”, as well as a small book, “Die Tektonik des Menschlichen”, in which Frei outlines his intentions as a filmmaker.
Soundtracks to two of the films include music from ECM: Arvo Pärt, Eleni Karaindrou and David Darling in “War Photographer”, and Pärt, Jan Garbarek and Steve Kuhn in “The Giant Buddhas.
