Results of the 60th Annual DownBeat International Critics Poll have just been published in August issue of the venerable US jazz magazine, and the critics have voted Manfred Eicher #1 Producer and ECM #1 Record Label. It’s the fourth time that both ECM and its producer have topped the respective categories in the last five years.
In the Poll the late Paul Motian is also voted into the DownBeat Hall of Fame, and Jack DeJohnette is #1 drummer.
