ECM garners Grammy Nominations in Four Categories

ECM founder/president Manfred Eicher has received his ninth nomination for Classical Producer of the Year on the merits of album productions including: Beethoven’s Diabelli-Variationen played by András Schiff; Canto Oscuro, pianist Anna Gourari’s recital disc with music of Bach-Busoni, Gubaidulina and Hindemith; Adam's Lament by Arvo Pärt; and String Paths by Dobrinka Tabakova. Eicher was the winner of the Grammy Award in this category in 2002.

Arvo Pärt's Adam’s Lament won nominations in two categories - Best Contemporary Classical Composition and Best Choral Performance (Latvian Radio Choir and Vox Clamantis with Tõnu Kaljuste directing).

String Paths, the first ECM album dedicated to the music of Dobrinka Tabakova (performed by Maxim Rysanov, viola/conductor, Kristina Blaumane, cello and Janine Jansen, violin among others), is nominated in the category Best Classical Compendium as well as being cited in Manfred Eicher’s Classical Producer nomination.

Winners of the 56th Grammy Awards will be announced on January 26th, 2014.
