Arvo Pärt’s 90th birthday year brought together renowned performers at the Arvo Pärt Centre, many of them musicians deeply connected with ECM’s New Series.
The celebrations on 29 November included counter tenor David James, cellist Anja Lechner, pianist Aleksei Ljubimov, organist Christopher Bowers-Broadbent among others.
The second half of the concert featured a selection of Arvo Pärt’s landmark orchestral works performed by the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra under conductor Tõnu Kaljuste. Impressions of the event can be gathered in these photos (by Aron Urb).
