Straight reisssue of 1982 Mantler recording which has been out of print for a decade. The "band" was typically adventurous for a WATT production project of the period: as Mantler takes the strings of the London Symphony Orchestra, Miles Davis’s guitar player, the Pink Floyd’s drummer, factors in WATT dependables Bley and Swallow, and adds Mike Gibbs as conductor, to see what they can extract from his characteristically bleak charts. Mike Stern delivers a particularly incandescent performance.
