Summer of Covers

Various international publications chose ECM artists for the cover of their magazine throughout the summer.

Starting off with Fred Hersch and his new solo recording Silent, Listening in June was the Italian magazine Musica Jazz.

Oded Tzur, who just released his new quartet album My Prophet was on the June/July cover of the German magazine Jazzthetik.

Norma Winstone, whose new recording with Kit Downes, Outpost of Dreams, was released only weeks ago, makes two appearences on magazine covers — on the August issue of Musica Jazz and on the September/October issue of the German magazine Jazz Thing.

On the Sepember issue of UK-magazine Jazzwise is John Surman, who just turned 80 and announced his retirement from live playing. His new album Words Unspoken was also released at the beggining of 2024.

Furtheremore, the Japanese intoxicate magazine, issued by Tower Records, features Manfred Eicher and Don Cherry on the cover of its newest issue.
